Of course my Abyss Watcher cosplay wouldn’t be complete without the Farron Greatsword (and dagger, but more about that later)! I’ve been working on this for over a week, but until recently, it didn’t look good enough to share a picture. This thing is 5.5 feet long, almost as tall as I am!
I started with a yardstick bolted to a pvc pipe, added a wooden extension to the yardstick to make it longer, then covered the whole thing in EVA foam. After chamfering the foam, I covered it in Thibra. Because I’m the absolute worst at making clean shallow angles with my dremel (I need a belt sander, yo), I’ve been sanding the ever living crap out of this thing for the past week. First bondo, then apoxie sculpt to get the larger imperfections, then spot putty. Still a lot of work to do, but it’s getting there. And my new handheld power sander is amazing.
Unless something terrible happens, this should definitely be ready in time for PAX East :-D
